Here at Exmouth Adventure Co we take our role as caretakers of the incredible environment in which we live, work and play seriously.
As a leading eco-adventure company, dedicated to exploring and protecting the wild beauty of Western Australia’s Ningaloo Coast. our adventures celebrate the incredible diversity of this World Heritage–listed region while treading lightly on the land and sea.
Our small-group, low-impact tours are designed to immerse you in nature — whether it’s kayaking over coral gardens, snorkelling with marine life, hiking through ancient gorges or camping under a star-filled sky. Every experience is guided by our passionate local team, who share deep knowledge of the area’s ecosystems, cultural heritage, and conservation values.
Our mission is to inspire meaningful connections between people and place, empowering travellers to become stewards of the natural world.
Reducing Emissions
The nature of what we do means treading lightly. With a focus on human-powered exploration, whether it's by kayak, by snorkel or on foot, slow sustainable travel is where we're at.
But we also believe there's always room for improvement in everything we do. We are committed to reducing our business emissions with the following initiatives:
- Staff are encouraged to walk or cycle to work
- Re-usable items are used to serve and store food
- We support local suppliers where possible, and buy in bulk to reducing packaging
- Exploring sustainable options for EAC merchandise including organic cotton, eco-dyed apparel
- Regular service and maintenance schedules for vehicles to keep them at their most efficient

Leave No Trace
Leave No Trace principles guide our daily operations and form part of the briefings we give our guests when out and about exploring Ningaloo. We aim to reduce the impact we have on fragile ecosystems and areas by:
- Spending time planning our tours and ensuring guides and guests are adequately prepared to reduce our impact on the natural areas we are visiting
- Travelling and camping in areas where we can minimise any disturbance to native flora and fauna
- Disposing of waste thoughtfully. Everything we pack in to the natural areas we visit we pack out.
- Educating our guests to leave what they find. A shell is much more valuable in the ecosystem where it's found than in someone's pocket - it could be somebody's home! Photos are a great way to remember special finds.
- Reducing the impact of campfires. Campfires are currently not permitted on any of our tours.
- Respecting wildlife. We operate on a strict no touch, no take ethos when interacting with wildlife. We aim to meet or exceed wildlife separation distances and all wildlife interactions are strictly on the animal's terms.
- Being considerate of our hosts and other visitors, by acknowledging and interacting with the traditional owners of the area we are visiting and respecting other users
Conservation
Exmouth Adventure Co supports local conservation organisations such as Cape Conservation Committee and Protect Ningaloo. Our guides are active in organisations such as Sea Shepherd, and Exmouth Community Gardens. and take part in citizen science initiatives such as the annual Sea Slug census, the Great Southern Bio Blitz, and contribute data to iNaturalist.
Other conservation initiatives Exmouth Adventure Co has implemented:
- Recycling all eligible items via Containers for Change and other local recycling programs. Any income made from Containers for Change is donated to the Exmouth Wildlife Care group.
- Single-use plastic bottles aren't supplied on our tours. Instead, guests are asked to supply their own reusable water bottle.
- Providing sun-safe clothing like long sleeve rashies and broad brim hats on our tours, and encouraging guests to explore reef-safe sun protection alternatives. Guests have the option to purchase reef-safe sunscreen and zinc as part of our tour booking process.
